Prosthetic Leg Cover

This project involved designing a custom prosthetic leg cover for a Purple Heart recipient with the goal of blending function, comfort, and personal expression. The veteran wanted to improve the symmetry between his prosthetic and natural leg, as ill-fitting pants often drew unwanted attention and discomfort. To solve this, we conducted 3D scans of both his prosthetic and intact leg to accurately match the geometry and restore a natural silhouette.

The final design was 3D printed and features an internal magnetic mounting system that allows the cover to snap into place securely and effortlessly. The outer shell includes a subtle yet meaningful detail, an embossed Purple Heart emblem, honoring his military service and personal story. In addition to offering a clean profile for clothing, the design gives him the ability to proudly display part of his identity in a refined, dignified way.
